When comparing electric luxury SUVs, three consistently rank well compared to the competition. The 2024 Tesla Model X, Audi Q8 e-tron, and the Jaguar I-Pace all offer top-end luxury cabins, thrilling powertrains, and high consumer satisfaction. Which model makes the most sense for you? We’re here to break that down, going over each vehicle’s pros, cons, and highlights. Our breakdown includes price, powertrains, standard luxury features, and more. Each model has its strengths. The Tesla’s powertrain is quicker, and the battery offers more range than either the Jaguar or Audi. If raw power is your priority, the Model X makes sense for you. While they take the crown regarding power, consumers find their cabin a bit lackluster in the luxury SUV segment. The cabin is stark and minimalist, lacking the high-quality materials and comfort you want from a luxury SUV. In recent years, Teslas have encountered quality control issues as well, from misaligned panels to lackluster paint. It’s not what you want to hear when spending big money on an electric SUV.Â
The Audi Q8 e-tron delivers more value in terms of luxury features, albeit with a less powerful electric powertrain. While leather seats aren’t standard, you can pay more to add them. You’ll also find more standard features than on the Tesla, including adaptive cruise control. While the Audi offers more standard features, it still lacks ventilated seats and other quality-of-life features, and it comes in at a higher price than the I-Pace. It also sits nearly a full second behind the I-Pace when compared 0-60 times, and it’s over a second and a half slower than the Model X.
Admittedly, The Jaguar I-Pace range is the worst of the trio, sitting about 40 miles less than the e-tron. However, it is notably quicker than the Audi e-tron and offers more luxury features than the competition by far. The cabin epitomizes luxury, with standard Windsor leather and polished metal throughout. The I-Pace’s seats are the best in class, with heated and ventilated 16-way sports seats coming standard. The I-Pace also features the best warranty of the bunch, including complimentary routine service over the life of your warranty. The powerful engine and top-end luxury help it stand out, offering a premier driving experience.Â
While each model offers something unique, the I-Pace has the most to offer for most consumers in this segment. Visit Jaguar Land Rover Oklahoma City to test drive your next Jaguar EV!
